Inspiring Creativity for a Tobacco-Free Future

As part of the observance of World Tobacco Day 2026, the Malayalee Association Greater Noida (MAGNA) successfully organized an Online Poster Making Competition under the themes:

Global Theme:
“Unmasking the Appeal – Countering Nicotine and Tobacco Addiction”

MAGNA Theme:
“Quit Today for a Better Tomorrow”

The competition was conducted with the objective of creating awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco and nicotine addiction while encouraging members to express their thoughts creatively through art and visual communication.

The event received an enthusiastic response from MAGNA members across different age groups. Participants submitted thought-provoking posters highlighting the dangers of tobacco use, the benefits of quitting, and the importance of leading a healthy and addiction-free life.

Evaluation Process

The entries were evaluated by renowned cartoonist Sudheernath, Chairman of the Kerala Cartoon Academy and Member of Malayalam Mission.

The judging was carried out based on:

  • Creativity and originality
  • Relevance to the theme
  • Clarity of message
  • Artistic presentation
  • Overall impact and awareness value

The judge appreciated the quality of the entries and the sincere efforts made by participants in spreading awareness through creative expression.

Shri P. R. S. Raja secured the First Prize for an outstanding poster that effectively communicated the anti-tobacco message through powerful visuals and a compelling awareness campaign concept.

Building a Tobacco-Free Future

World Tobacco Day reminds us of the devastating impact of tobacco and nicotine addiction on individuals, families, and society. Through this competition, MAGNA sought to encourage members—especially children and youth—to become advocates for healthy living and positive social change.

The competition once again demonstrated that art is a powerful tool for education, awareness, and community engagement.
