The festive spirit of Onam came alive on 7th September 2025, when the Malayalee Association Greater Noida West (MAGNA) hosted its vibrant Onam Celebrations cum Family Get-Together at Salvation Tree School, Greater Noida West. The event was not just a cultural extravaganza but also a reflection of togetherness, tradition, and community bonding.
From the beautiful floral arrangements to the rhythmic beats of Chenda Melam, every corner of the venue echoed the joy of Kerala’s most cherished festival. The program was meticulously planned and followed a detailed minute-to-minute schedule that made the celebration both grand and memorable.
Inaugural Session
The day began with a warm Namaskaram to all members and guests, followed by the symbolic lighting of the lamp near the vibrant Pookkalam. Senior members, advisors, and office bearers of MAGNA came together to mark the auspicious beginning.
Adding to the grandeur, the Delhi Panchavadya Trust presented a soul-stirring Chenda Melam, filling the hall with festive energy and Kerala’s traditional rhythm.
Cultural Inauguration
The cultural journey began with a divine Ganesha Stuthi by students of the Indian School of Art, choreographed by the renowned Sandhya Shekar. This was followed by a graceful solo dance performance by Avni Govind.
The release of the MAGNA Onam Brochure 2025 added a special significance to the event, symbolizing the association’s dedication to preserving culture and heritage. Performances in poetry, traditional dance, and music set the stage for a day filled with artistry and celebration.
Public Meeting & Inauguration
The dignitaries were welcomed with flowers and applause, followed by a silent prayer and lighting of the ceremonial lamp.

- Welcome Address by Shri Vineeth T, General Secretary, MAGNA.
- Presidential Address by Shri P. Jayaraj Nair, President of MAGNA.
- Thoughtful words of guidance from Advisor Shri K.G. Narendranath.
- An inspiring Inaugural Address by Chief Guest Dr. Jayanthi A, followed by felicitation speeches from esteemed guests including Dr. Delony Manuvel and Dr. Rev. Fr. Roby Kannamchirayil and Vice President N.G. Prathapan.

Awards & Recognitions
One of the most heartwarming traditions of MAGNA continued this year too — the Educational Excellence Awards for students who excelled in academics. Young achievers like Shreeya Jayachandran, Mihir Nambiar, Vidhu M, Aditi A. Krishnan, and Aarush Nair were honoured with certificates, mementoes, and cash prizes.
The event also recognized the outstanding contributions of community members in professional, cultural, and social fields. Personalities like Dr. Vijaya Krishnan, Prof. Karthikeswari, Dr. Shallu Pillai, Smt. Darshana Menon, Smt. Sumi Nimil, and Smt. Sandhya Shekhar were felicitated for their remarkable achievements.
Another proud moment was the inauguration of MAGNA’s official website (www.ourmagna.org) by Chief Guest Dr. Jayanthi, a step towards stronger community connectivity in the digital age.

and the much-awaited Onam Sadya — a feast that united all hearts and taste buds.
