
Malayalee Association Greater Noida (MAGNa): A Brief Journey (2022–2025)
The Malayalee Association Greater Noida (MAGNa) was founded in 2022 with the vision of uniting Malayalees in Greater Noida West and preserving their cultural identity. Initiated by social worker Mr. Jayaraj Nair, the association quickly became a vibrant platform for cultural, social, and charitable activities.
Aims and Objectives
MAGNa works for the overall progress of the Malayalee community in social, cultural, educational, and charitable fields. It promotes Malayalam learning, extends scholarships, conducts health camps, and preserves Kerala’s traditions through cultural events and community celebrations. The association also explores welfare projects like women’s hostels, old-age homes, and matrimonial support, while fostering harmony with other communities.
Milestones and Activities
- 2022: The first Onam celebration with traditional Onasadya, launch of Feeding the Hungry, support to a needy family, Annual Sports Day, and opening of a Malayalam Study Centre.
- 2023: Release of the first MAGNa Souvenir, felicitation of achievers, large-scale Gandhi Jayanti food distribution, and fundraising for medical causes.
- 2024: Onam Kudumba Sangamam with dignitaries from Kerala and AIMA, charity initiative Bring Back the Lost Smile at Grace Care Home, and vibrant cultural events including Thiruvathirakali and Chendamelam.
- 2025: Christmas and New Year celebrations with distinguished guests, showcasing Kerala’s martial art Kalaripayattu, cultural dances, music, comedy shows, and grand community feasts.
Membership Growth
From humble beginnings, MAGNa now proudly has 166 registered members, reflecting its growing influence and strong community bonding.
